I’ve always thought “hiatus” was a funny-sounding word: hi-ate-us. When you hear it, or see it used in a print-sentence, it conjures up a host of images. However, in my case, the word is a perfect-fit because I am taking a hiatus.
Well, actually, I’m getting ready to say, “Happy trails,” and take off again this summer to get lost in the wilds of Montana and Wyoming. That is nothing new, but this year I am going to take a hiatus from this blog. In past-years I have written items to be posted in my absence. This year I am going to practice the hiatus-principle.
The definition of hiatus is:
“A break, or interruption, in the continuity of a work, series, action, etc.”
(Dictionary.com)
Yeah, that’s the ticket; I’m going to take a break. You see today’s effort marks the three-year anniversary of Journaling the Journey. It is a labor of love; it is work but I love it! So many of you have offered positive affirmation and appreciation over the years telling me how much these blogs mean to you. That is a huge part of why I continue writing.
But many of you know I have also been working on a book this year; an anthology of these blogs, arranged and edited around twelve recurring themes found in Journaling the Journey. I am ready to step away from the writing and editing process for a few weeks letting my creative energies recharge. I promise I will be back later this summer, bigger and better than ever. Okay, maybe just bigger than ever.
So, if someone asks, “Where did Pastor John’s blog go?” you can confidently inform them, hiatus!
Stay tuned,
John

Have a nice quite time and enjoy the calmness.
Happy Trails to you and Lennea, please be careful around the bears, don't want to have to read anything about "a great escape" when you get back.
