Dr. Jewett teaches Romans course in March

rjewettDuring the four Sundays in March, Dr. Robert Jewett, theologian in residence at St. Mark's, will lead a study "Grace Alone in Romans". You'll find Dr. Jewett in Upper Fellowship Hall during both the 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday School hours each Sunday.  The sessions are open to everyone. This study is based on Dr. Jewett's newly published work which is without question the most comprehensive study of Romans in the world today.

Dealing with Rejection

Luke 15:11-32

waynealloway_thmThere is no pain in the world quite like it: the awful pain of feeling rejected. It hurts! It can crush us emotionally, physically and spiritually. But the Christian faith has good news for those who feel rejected, the good news of healing and wholeness. Join us next week as Pastor Wayne offers a powerful biblical antidote to the painful feelings of rejection.

A Message from our Senior Pastor... PDF Print E-mail
Pastor Wayne Alloway

I believe St. Mark's United Methodist Church exists to be a living, praying, growing example of Jesus Christ, which is empowered and led by the Holy Spirit, to reach out with love and compassion to our community and the world.

We will do this through the personal witness of our lives, the witness of our love for each other, and how we use our time, talents and resources under the Lordship of Christ. I hope that this web site, and its resources which define for you our many activities, will enable us to grow closer and fulfill more completely the purpose our Lord has for us as a congregation.

....................................................................................................................

When Christ-followers are seeking a new church home, they don’t count heads, they count hearts.

It’s our intention that seekers find at the heart of St. Mark’s a place committed to providing tools and tasks and teachings that will lead them to greater fellowship in Christ. We intend for everyone to find a place that nourishes his or her spiritual heart, a place for growth, a place for life-change, and a Christ-centered worship home for themselves and their families...for yourself and your family.

Prayer Note...

Our prayers can be more than empty wishes, vain hopes or feeble aspirations—but only when they are prayed from faith-filled hearts.

There are two main principles I’ve picked up over the years as they pertain to cultivating the type of faith that moves mountains.  The first is this: Faith comes by looking at God, not at the mountain. The second principle of mountain-moving faith is this: God gives us faith as we walk by his side. -Bill Hybels Too Busy Not to Pray
