Adult Ministry

St. Mark's is blessed with many ministry groups designed to enhance the spiritual growth of adults with similar characteristics and needs. We also offer a variety of classes to help all levels of believers from seekers to life-long Christians, gain understanding and spiritual maturity in their Christian walk. If you have never been involved in a small group, we invite you to experience the joy of fellowship and Christian growth in one of the many adult ministries at St. Mark's.

Disciple Bible Study: Disciplined Bible study aimed at developing strong Christian leaders. »

Alpha: An opportunity to explore the validity and relevance of the Christian faith for our lives today. »

United Methodist Women's Groups: Fellowship, service and spiritual growth for women at St. Mark's and the world beyond. »

Seniors Ministry: Focus on the needs of senior adults within the family of St. Mark's and the community of Lincoln. »

Sunday Morning Classes »

Christian education classes for children ages 2 through 5th grade. »

Nursery Professional nursery care for Sunday and Wednesday worship services. »

Wednesday Night Classes Classes for children 3 years old through 5th grade. »

Family Fun Night Occasional events for families to gather for laughter, learning and fun. »

Vacation Bible School Games, crafts, snacks, and Bible stories for one fun-filled week! »

Kamps For Kids Summer day camp program »

Preschool/KIDZONE Licensed preschool and child care facility for children between the ages 6 weeks and 12 years. »

 

Singles Ministry

This ministry is committed to helping single adults grow in their Christian faith with fellowship, Bible study and service projects. The Singles Ministry also sponsors many outreach programs such as the Divorce/Relationship Recovery Program and Family Matters courses. »

Music Ministry

St. Mark's has many opportunities for members of all ages to share their vocal and instrumental talents in choirs and small groups.

Adult Choir and Small Vocal Groups: We have many singing opportunities in the choir, many small groups and bell choirs. »

Children's Choirs: We have 3 children's choirs for children 3 years old through 5th grade. »

Youth Vocal and Instrumental Groups: Singing, bell choir and jazz band for youth grades 6 to 12. »

Kids Against Hunger : A volunteer-driven effort to package and distribute food locally and internationally. »

Clinic With A Heart : Clinic With A Heart is an opportunity to participate in missions at home. It is a free medical clinic that serves the underserved populations of Lincoln, such as the growing refugee populations.. »

Habitat for Humanity : An exciting opportunity for stewardship, where a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization builds simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership with people in need. »

Rayne Mission Trips : Week-long work excursions to New Orleans to assist Katrina victims in reclaiming and rebuilding their homes. »

Depression Group : Current information about depression and group interaction concerning individual needs. »

Divorce/Relationship Recovery Workshop : Help move through a failed marriage or broken relationship and gain a new start toward health and wholeness. »

Family Matters : Recovery program for children dealing with divorce in their family. »

Stepfamily Discussion Group : Discussion group for people that are part of a stepfamily. »

TeamMates : Mentoring program for youth. TeamMates is a mentoring program modeled after the program begun in 1991 by Nancy and Tom Osborne. They saw the needs of children growing up without enough adult interaction. These youth needed someone older who could talk with them, help them set goals and reinforce basic skills, attitudes and other lessons of life. The Osborne Program emphasized character issues.»

Praising Pups : Faith-Based Pet Therapy
Domesti-PUPS. The mission of Praising-PUPS is to share the word of God through the assistance of the human-animal bond.
