Come in to Package: 

We need 250 volunteers every month to come in and package food.  We work in assembly-line style so it’s a great opportunity to catch up with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors!  Play some music, go out afterwards.  Here are some ideas:  dinner groups, student councils, Birthday Parties, recognition parties, co-workers, family party, neighborhood packaging session, PEO group, youth groups – YOU NAME, WE CAN HELP YOU DO IT!  We try to set up packaging sessions for the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month and the 2nd and 4th Monday evenings.  HOWEVER as long as you have at least 12 people to package (maximum of 65) – we will do all we can to accommodate any requested time to come in to package. Financial Support: 

We need $10,000 each month to finance the food and boxes for 100,000 meals.  Please consider what you can contribute to our mission to end starvation.  Consider a monthly pledge – determine how many children you would like to feed each month –  $100 will save 1000 children each month!  Consider as a family giving up an evening out each month knowing your small sacrifice makes a TREMENDOUS difference and saves innocent children from the slow, painful death of starvation.  Ear mark your St. Mark’s donations for Kids Against Hunger or contact Dee Dee Neil, adm2neil@neb.rr.com, 328-9289.

Kids Against Hunger Liaison: 

This program takes advantages of schools, businesses, civic groups -etc. that you are currently involved with.  The Liaison is in essence a KAH disciple!  You serve as the contact person for your "group" to educate them on the mission of KAH and how easy it is to make a difference, schedule a fundraiser (think about a penny drive or holiday collection) if appropriate, and schedule your group in at least once a year to come in and package.  This should take just a FEW HOURS of your time annually!  Do you have a neighbor, friend, family member that attends a different church or works for a large company that you think would also like to be a Liaison?  Remember, this is a community-wide project that we are taking the lead on.  Our Liaison coordinator is Kim Meyers, kmeyers@lps.org 

Packaging Supervisor: 

This is a great position if you love people!  When a group comes in to package, the packaging supervisors educates the group on KAH - possibly show the video (depending on the age of the group), demonstrates the steps and oversees the packaging session and the clean up (groups clean up after themselves).  We are trying to round up enough supervisors that you will simply do a packaging session every 4-6 weeks lasting approximately 3-4 hours max.  Our packaging coordinator is Jeanne Holdren, 472-7146, jholdren@nebraska.edu

Fund Raising: 

Do you have experience or a passion for helping us to raise funds and community awareness for Kids Against Hunger.  We are completely volunteer driven and purchase our own food.  We are trying to get creative to keep costs as low as possible - but will need the help of our congregation, other churches and groups in the community and specifically - we will be looking for Business Sponsors who can donate $500-$1000/month to help us raise the nearly $20-25,000 we'll need monthly to produce and distribute 100,000 meals!  We will need door knockers, administrative help, your contacts!  Contact Dee Dee Neil:  adm2neil@neb.rr.com, 328-9289

PR: 

Do you work for a radio or television station or have a local contact that you can get excited about KAH?  We'll need the coverage to get the community involved.  If so, please contact Dee Dee Neil as listed above.
