St. Mark's Scouting Ministry provides educational opportunities for boys and youth age 6 to 20 years old to take part in an active program of leadership development, service and outdoor activities. There's a place for Scouts at St. Mark's!
St. Mark's is just one of two non-LDS charter organizations in the Cornhusker Council's 16-county region of southeast Nebraska that charters a "full family of Scouting"— a Cub Scout program, a Boy Scout program, and a high adventure program for older youth.
Cub Scout Pack 25
Comprised of boys in 1st through 5th grade, Cub Scouts progress up through the ranks of Wolf, Bear and Webelos, gradually acquiring more confidence with basic Scouting knowledge and outdoor skills. Dens of boys meet weekly and the Pack meets once per month. Pack 25 annually co-hosts the Salt Valley District Pinewood Derby each March that attracts over 350 Scouts and 700 family members to the St. Mark’s Family Life Center. Cub Scout service projects include Kids Against Hunger, park and lake cleanups, recycling, and the Support Our Soldiers campaign. Pack 25 registered 35 boys for 2014. For more information, contact Cubmaster Nick Buresh at firstname.lastname@example.org or 402-484-5565.
Boy Scout Troop 25
Comprised of young men age 11 to 18 years old, Boy Scouts progress up through the ranks from Tenderfoot to Eagle Scout, earning merit badges along the way. Boy Scout Troop 25 actually plans and delivers their own weekly meetings and monthly outdoor activities program, under the watchful eyes of our volunteer adult leaders and a troop committee. Troop 25 is one of the largest and most active troops in the Cornhusker Council with 36 boys registered. Boy Scout service activities include Adopt-a-Road, St. Mark's Flag Duty, Scouting for Food, St. Mark's Arts and Crafts Fair, Kids Against Hunger, and Eagle Scout service projects. For more information, contact Scoutmaster Dan Miller at email@example.com or 402-486-9907.
Venture Crew 25
Comprised of young men and women age 13 to 20 years old, our Venture Crew is trained to organize and lead their own meetings, activities and outdoor programs. Venture Crew 25 has one business meeting and one activity outing per month, and then conducts at least one high adventure, "Super Activity" each summer of one to two weeks in length. Venture Crew 25 service projects include Matt Talbot Kitchen, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Support Our Soldiers, and Special Olympics. Venture Crew 25 registered 24 youth for 2014.
